iFixit no longer has the Valve Steam Deck LCD battery, screen, or SSD replacement parts in stock, according to Android Authority's report citing the iFixit website and a screenshot of an email shared on Reddit.
According to the reported iFixit email, Valve has stopped producing repair parts for the original Steam Deck LCD. The email also said iFixit is unlikely to receive more OEM replacement batteries for the LCD model and is looking at aftermarket options instead.
The reported parts shortage affects the original Steam Deck with an LCD display, not the newer Steam Deck OLED. Android Authority said the Steam Deck OLED appears unaffected at this stage.
