Apple extends free satellite access for iPhone 14, 15, and 16

Apple said on September 9 that it is extending free access to its satellite features for an additional year for existing iPhone 14, iPhone 15, and iPhone 16 users.

Apple disclosed the extension in a footnote to its iPhone 18 Pro press release. The company said the free trial will be extended for iPhone 14, iPhone 15, and iPhone 16 users who activated their device in a country that supports Apple’s satellite features before midnight PT on September 9.

Apple introduced satellite connectivity on the iPhone 14 lineup with Emergency SOS via satellite and Find My via satellite location sharing. Apple later added Roadside Assistance via satellite and Messages via satellite, and now refers to them collectively as its satellite features.

Apple also said new buyers of the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Duo will receive one year of free access to its satellite features. Apple has not announced pricing for satellite features after the free-access period ends.
