Honor Robot Phone launches in China from 18 August

Honor launched the Robot Phone in China in August 2026, with sales starting on 18 August and pricing from CNY9,999 ($1,483).

Honor said the Robot Phone was first showcased at MWC26 Barcelona and includes a four degrees of freedom (4DoF) mechanical gimbal system for camera movement. The handset is positioned around what Honor calls embodied AI, with an articulating camera arm designed to track users, capture stabilised footage and respond to gestures.

Honor said the Robot Phone has a 200MP main camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. Honor said the gimbal system uses more than 100 precision components, is 65% smaller than conventional gimbals and provides 200% greater structural strength. The device’s YOYO Robot Mode uses gesture recognition, contextual understanding and physical movement to pan and tilt the camera arm to keep users in frame, with gesture controls for hands-free use.

Honor said the phone’s YOYO Auto Execution system can interpret user intent and complete multi-step tasks across supported apps and system settings. Honor also said it will provide an open agent skills interface for third-party developers to build features using the phone’s interactive functions and autonomous gimbal. The company also announced a partnership with Arri to integrate professional post-production workflows into the device’s imaging capabilities, and said technology from that partnership will also appear in the upcoming Magic9 series.
