Google is preparing a Gboard setting that lets users disable automatic spaces after suggestions, according to an Android Authority APK teardown published on AndroidAuthority.com.
Android Authority reported that Gboard currently adds a space automatically after a user taps a suggested autocorrect word. The reported new option would give users direct control over that behavior inside the keyboard app.
Android Authority said it enabled the setting during its teardown and that the option worked as expected in testing. The report did not provide a public release date for the feature, and Google had not formally announced it in the source material.
