Yallo launches travel eSIM for 160+ destinations

Yallo has launched a travel eSIM with eSIM-based data bundles for more than 160 travel destinations. Sunrise's Yallo brand offers the service through the Yallo Travel eSIM mobile app and works with telecom service provider One Global for the product. Residents of Switzerland can use the offer, and a Yallo mobile plan is not required.

Yallo's travel eSIM is a data-only offer sold as one-off bundles rather than a subscription. The smallest bundle includes 1GB and expires after one day. Other bundles are valid for 30 days and include 2GB, 3GB, 5GB, 10GB, 20GB, or 50GB. The bundles do not include phone call allowances.

Pricing varies by destination. In EU countries, a 5GB bundle costs CHF 5.50 and a 50GB bundle costs CHF 31, with the same pricing across EU countries except Ireland and Cyprus. In the UK, a 5GB bundle costs CHF 11 and a 20GB bundle costs CHF 40.50. For selected non-European destinations, a 10GB bundle costs CHF 10 in Thailand, CHF 12 in Japan, CHF 15 in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand, and CHF 45 in Costa Rica.

Yallo's pricing undercuts several Swiss roaming bundles in the example cited by moneyland.ch. Yallo charges CHF 13 for a 20GB travel eSIM bundle for an EU country, while the cheapest 20GB roaming bundle cited from a Swiss carrier costs CHF 24.95 from M-Tel. The same comparison lists CHF 29.95 from Salt, CHF 39.90 from Swisscom, and CHF 59.90 for a 60GB bundle from Sunrise.
