SK Telecom plans 2GW AI data center with Nvidia and SK Hynix

Source: telecom.economictimes.indiatimes.comJuly 25, 2026

SK Telecom said it plans to build a 2-gigawatt AI data center using Nvidia Vera Rubin chips and SK Hynix HBM4 memory, with the first facility due to come online in 2027.

TL;DR

  • SK Telecom plans a 2-gigawatt AI data center.
  • The project will use Nvidia Vera Rubin chips.
  • SK Hynix will supply HBM4 high-bandwidth memory.
  • The first facility is scheduled to come online in 2027.

SK Telecom is part of SK Group, which unveiled an AI data center initiative valued at more than $500 billion with Nvidia, according to the source report. The report links the data center buildout to a broader partnership between Nvidia and SK Group.

Nvidia said the planned 2-gigawatt AI data center will run on its Vera Rubin chips. SK Hynix, another SK Group company, will provide HBM4, which is high-bandwidth memory used to support AI computing workloads.

The first facility in SK Telecom's planned AI data center program is due to come online in 2027, according to Nvidia. The source report did not specify the site location, financing structure, or additional deployment phases.
