SES Space and Defense signed a five-year agreement with US Space Force Systems Command to give the US military faster access to satellite connectivity in remote locations. SES said the Blanket Purchase Agreement lets the US military quickly order global Ku-band connectivity.
SES said its Ku-band satellites are mostly in geosynchronous Earth orbit, which allows broad coverage across large surface areas. The company said this satellite capacity is designed to provide reliable, high-speed connectivity.
SES said the agreement includes access to FlexMove for connectivity in areas without terrestrial coverage, FlexGovSecure for signal protection against tracking and hacking, and FlexAir for aircraft connectivity. SES said the agreement reflects US government efforts to modernise satellite communications procurement using flexible commercial models.
