NITI Aayog said India’s telecom and network equipment sector could double its share of GDP, but it needs urgent policy support. The finding was published in a report cited by The Economic Times.

The report said more than 80% of critical components, including 4G and 5G antennas and signal processors, were sourced from China. NITI Aayog said this import dependence shows the need for policy support for India’s telecom and network equipment sector.
