Deutsche Telekom plans €1 billion Poland fibre acquisitions
Deutsche Telekom said it plans to acquire Fiberhost and Inea from Macquarie Asset Management in Poland in deals worth €1 billion.

Deutsche Telekom said the acquisitions are intended to strengthen the fixed-network position of its T-Mobile Polska unit in Poland. The seller is Macquarie Asset Management. Fiberhost provides open-access fixed services, meaning multiple internet service providers can use its network, while Inea provides broadband and TV services.
Deutsche Telekom said Fiberhost's fibre network passes more than 1.4 million homes in Poland. The company also said Inea has a customer base of 300,000. T-Mobile CEO Andreas Maierhofer said the assets would add to T-Mobile Polska's existing mobile network backbone, data centres and fibre infrastructure.
Poland's Office of Electronic Communications said fibre was the country's primary fixed-line access technology in 2025, with about 13 million homes covered, equal to 80.1% of homes. The regulator also said telecom sector revenue rose 3.5% year on year to PLN46 billion (€10.7 billion), while operator capital expenditure increased 32.8% to PLN12.7 billion. Deutsche Telekom said Fiberhost would continue to honour existing ISP contracts on a transparent and non-discriminatory basis, and that the acquisitions require competition approvals before closing.
