Google Gemini for Home adds Continued Conversation

Google is rolling out Continued Conversation to Gemini for Home, according to a Google blog post and Google Home release notes cited by Android Authority. The rollout applies to all early access users and keeps the microphone active for a few seconds after an initial request so users can ask a follow-up question or give another command without repeating the wake phrase.
Google said users will know Gemini for Home is still listening when pulsing lights appear on the device. Google also said Gemini for Home will remember context across the follow-up exchange and ignore background chatter during that listening window.
The update restores a feature that users associated with Google Assistant as Google continues shifting home voice interactions to Gemini. Android Authority reported that Continued Conversation was one of the top user requests during the transition from Google Assistant to Gemini for Home.
