Ericsson names Per Narvinger CEO from October 2026

Ericsson announced on 16 June that CEO Borje Ekholm will step down at the end of September 2026, and current networks chief Per Narvinger will take over as chief executive.
Borje Ekholm has led the Swedish telecoms vendor since the start of 2017. Ericsson said he will remain with the company as an executive adviser after leaving the CEO role, with that advisory term running until 15 June 2027.
Per Narvinger is currently head of Ericsson's business area networks, a role he has held since March 2025. Before that, he led Ericsson's cloud software and services division. Ericsson said Narvinger has worked at the company since 1997.
Ericsson said Ekholm took over in 2017 during a period of restructuring. In the 16 June statement, Ekholm said the company had turned around during his tenure, while Narvinger said he was taking over at a pivotal time for the telecoms industry.
