Deutsche Telekom names Uwe Heckert CEO of Detecon

Deutsche Telekom appointed Uwe Heckert as CEO of Detecon, its digital transformation consulting business within T-Systems.

Detecon is Deutsche Telekom's digital transformation consulting business and sits within its T-Systems subsidiary. Before this appointment, Uwe Heckert served as COO of the T-Systems healthcare division.

Deutsche Telekom said Uwe Heckert has experience from roles inside and outside the group, including work with McKinsey, Philips and Unisys. The company said his remit as Detecon CEO is to expand Detecon's telecoms capabilities and grow its digital transformation business in other industries.

Uwe Heckert succeeds Jurgen Schafer as Detecon CEO. Deutsche Telekom said Schafer is leaving at his own request to pursue other opportunities, and added that Heckert will join the T-Systems board. T-Systems CEO Ferri Abolhassan said Schafer and Heckert worked closely in recent weeks to support a smooth handover.
