Claro Colombia has signed its first mobile virtual network operator hosting agreement with Movil Exito in Colombia. The deal adds Claro as a host network alongside Tigo for Movil Exito, whose customers can keep their existing mobile numbers when using the new Claro option.
Movil Exito, operated by Grupo Exito, has used Colombia Movil-Tigo's network for the past 12 years and has operated since 2013 without its own radio access network. The new agreement expands network access options for Movil Exito's approximately 2.2 million users.
According to El Colombiano, Claro has 4G coverage across all 1,104 municipalities in Colombia through more than 10,600 towers, and its 5G network is available in more than 100 cities. Claro's entry adds another MVNO host network in a market where Tigo and Movistar have historically supported most MVNOs.
CRC data showed Colombia's MVNOs reduced their net negative mobile number portability balance to around 40,000 lines in the first quarter of 2026, a 57.5% improvement from the same period in 2025. In that quarter, Movil Exito posted a net gain of 1,638 lines, while ETB gained 3,316, Plintron 2,073, and Suma Movil 1,431; Colombia's total mobile market stood at 92.9 million lines in 2025, with Claro holding 44.8% and the combined Tigo-Movistar business 41.5%.
