AI Sets Up Telecom for Its Next Growth Wave

Source: RCR Wireless NewsDecember 12, 2025Read original article on RCR Wireless News →

Artificial intelligence is moving from headlines into boardrooms, and telecom operators are trying to work out what that shift means for their networks and business models. As AI workloads grow, they will demand more bandwidth, lower latency, and more reliable connections, putting wireless and telecom infrastructure at the center of this next computing cycle.

Analysts argue that carriers stand to benefit on two fronts: first, by selling the upgraded connectivity that AI applications require, and second, by using AI inside their own operations to automate network management, cut costs, and improve service quality. The sector, often seen as mature and low‑growth, may be entering a new investment and upgrade phase driven less by smartphones and more by AI‑heavy cloud, enterprise, and edge services.
