Anthropic introduced its Claude Mythos model on 7 April through Project Glasswing to a limited group of technology companies that included Amazon Web Services, Apple, Nvidia, and Google. Anthropic did not make the model available to the general public and said Mythos Preview can identify and exploit software vulnerabilities autonomously at a level above most human experts.
Anthropic said it will commit up to $100 million in model usage credits to support Project Glasswing and $4 million in donations to open-source security organizations. The company said it restricted access to Mythos Preview to a select group of security leaders focused on protecting critical infrastructure and sharing knowledge across sectors because of both the model's defensive potential and the risks of broader access.
