Verizon boosts Indy 500 5G capacity by 400%

Verizon upgraded its 5G network at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway ahead of the Indy 500 on May 24. Verizon said it spent months preparing the track's network infrastructure and upgraded radio hardware to increase capacity for race-day crowds.
Verizon said the radio upgrades deliver a 400% increase in bandwidth at the track. The operator also said fans can expect speeds above 1.0Gbps at the venue during the event.
The network upgrade comes ahead of a race that draws large in-person attendance. According to the report, about 350,000 people attended last year's Indy 500 and used 61TB of data over mobile connections at the track.
