T-Mobile names Jessica Uhl CFO designate for February 2027 handover
TL;DR: T-Mobile appointed former Shell executive Jessica Uhl as CFO designate, with Peter Osvaldik set to step down as CFO in February 2027. Osvaldik will remain a strategic advisor until July 1, 2027, as part of T-Mobile's leadership succession plan.
T-Mobile appointed Jessica Uhl as CFO designate in 2026, and she will join the company later this month to work alongside current CFO Peter Osvaldik until he steps down in February 2027. Osvaldik will remain a strategic advisor until his contract ends on July 1, 2027, after more than 11 years with the company.
Jessica Uhl previously served as president of GE Vernova and spent 18 years in finance roles at Shell, including five years as CFO. She began her career at Enron in 1997 and was the company's vice president of corporate development in the Netherlands when Enron filed for bankruptcy in 2001.
T-Mobile said the CFO transition is part of long-term leadership succession planning after the CEO handover from Mike Sievert to Srini Gopalan. Since becoming CEO, Gopalan has also appointed former AT&T executive Chris Sambar as chief enterprise officer, while André Almeida moved to chief commercial officer and Mike Katz said he would leave the company while remaining a strategic advisor until December.
The finance leadership change comes as Deutsche Telekom, which owns about 53% of T-Mobile, reportedly continues to consider acquiring the rest of the company. Bloomberg reported this week that Elliott Management has built a stake in Deutsche Telekom and opposes a merger between Deutsche Telekom and T-Mobile.
