Pixel 10 temp unlock blocks Vodafone eSIM install on T-Mobile

TL;DR: A Reddit user said a T-Mobile-locked Google Pixel 10 marked as temporarily unlocked still showed a locked-device message when they tried to install a Vodafone travel eSIM for use in Spain.

A Reddit post said a Google Pixel 10 that was not paid off and temporarily unlocked through the T-Mobile unlock app failed to install a Vodafone eSIM. The user said scanning the QR code started setup, but the phone then displayed a message saying the device was locked.

The user said manual eSIM entry was also blocked. According to the post, tapping the add SIM option redirected them to contact T-Mobile instead of allowing eSIM details to be entered.

The user said a T-Life chat representative confirmed the Pixel 10 showed as temporarily unlocked on the account and said it should be able to add the eSIM. The representative did not resolve the issue and suggested trying again in the destination country or contacting Vodafone.

The user said they were planning to travel to Spain and were considering a refund for the Vodafone eSIM. The post also said the user remained on T-Mobile's grandfathered Simple Choice plan, which includes international data, and referenced slow data performance during a previous trip to London.
