Opera has added travel eSIM support to its Android browser app and includes 3GB of free data for the first three days abroad. The feature is available on carrier-unlocked, eSIM-compatible Android phones running Android 10 or later, and Opera is providing the service through Holiday.com.

The free 3GB offer is available to residents of 11 countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Poland. Users do not need to enter an email address or payment details to claim the free data, and the allowance starts when they connect abroad.

The free data can be used in 47 destinations: Albania, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Montenegro, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The eSIM is data-only and works alongside a user's existing physical SIM or eSIM rather than replacing their phone number. Opera says users can install it from the Android app by opening the profile menu, selecting eSIM, and following the setup steps; after installation, the eSIM can be used by any app on the phone, not only Opera.
