NTT and Japanese media company TBS said they will begin operations of their e6 joint venture on 8 August. The companies said the venture is intended to help children form clear ideas in an environment where AI can generate many possible answers to questions.

NTT and TBS said e6 will commercialise the e6 project they launched in February. NTT said the companies created Emotional Knight, a story-based educational game that uses AI and extended reality to teach decision-making. The companies also said they plan to expand their line-up of educational games, develop related intellectual property, and add more entertainment experiences.

NTT said it will contribute group resources including its optical and wireless network, the tsuzumi 2 large language model, research and development, and social implementation capabilities. TBS said it will contribute content creation, intellectual property development, and distribution. NTT President and CEO Akira Shimada said the companies believe children need the ability to think for themselves and make their own decisions while interacting with large amounts of information and AI. NTT also said feedback from an event held in March showed a high level of satisfaction.
