Nigeria fibre rollout still faces RoW and vandalism issues

Nigerian telecoms companies said at a recent Association of Telecoms Companies of Nigeria forum in Lagos that right-of-way (RoW) issues and vandalism are still slowing fibre broadband rollout.

Right-of-way (RoW), the legal permission needed to install telecoms infrastructure on public or private land, remains one of the issues affecting deployment. According to the report, telecoms companies said RoW problems continue to slow fibre rollout.

Telecoms companies at the Lagos forum also cited vandalism as an ongoing obstacle to broadband expansion. The report presented RoW issues and vandalism together as continuing factors affecting Nigerian fibre network deployment.
