Android Authority reported that Google Search dictionary-definition lookups can break when users search for certain words. The report said queries for words including “disregard,” “ignore,” and “remember” can cause AI Overviews to respond as if the user is issuing a command instead of asking for a definition.
In a statement published by Android Authority at 3:13 PM ET on May 22, 2026, a Google spokesperson said: “We’re aware that AI Overviews are misinterpreting some action-related queries, and we’re working on a fix, which will roll out soon.”
