Digicel Samoa said on Tuesday it expanded its wireless network coverage on Savai'i with the launch of a new tower in Asau on the western side of the island.

Earlier this year, Digicel Samoa launched two new towers in Samalaeulu and Falelima on Savai'i. The company said it identified Asau as a key centre in Savai'i's western region and prioritised additional network infrastructure there to support customer demand and improve coverage and reliability.

Digicel Samoa CEO Karl Vizvary said the Asau tower is part of a broader network investment programme. He said the operator has invested WST$22 million, equal to US$7.9 million, in network infrastructure over the past 18 months, including additional 4G and 5G sites across Upolu and Savai'i.
