Deutsche Telekom names Dhananjay Mirchandani as next CFO

Deutsche Telekom said Christian Illek will leave as CFO in April 2027 and Dhananjay Mirchandani will replace him. Illek is leaving for age-related reasons after 20 years at the company, where he also served as chief HR officer and held roles in the technology department.

Dhananjay Mirchandani joined Deutsche Telekom in 2019 as head of Finance & Investment Management in group development. The company said he oversaw the strategic development and subsequent sale of T-Mobile Netherlands and worked on several major deals in Deutsche Telekom's cell tower business.

Deutsche Telekom also appointed Jan Hofmeyr as CTO and board member from November. Hofmeyr replaces Abdu Mudesir, who left earlier this year and has since joined Verizon; Hofmeyr previously led the telco business at Amazon Web Services.

From November, Mladen Mitic will become chief product and digital officer, succeeding Jonathan Abrahamson. Mitic previously led B2C commercial growth in Deutsche Telekom's Europe segment.
