Cosmote Telekom to drop 'Cosmote' in Greece rebrand

Cosmote Telekom has started a rebrand in Greece that will remove the "Cosmote" part of its name and align the operator with Deutsche Telekom’s consumer branding. Prior to 2025, the operator had been known as Cosmote before adopting part of Deutsche Telekom’s primary consumer brand.

OTE Group owns Cosmote, and Deutsche Telekom holds a 55% stake in OTE Group. The rebrand will bring the Greek operation into line with consumer operations run under the Telekom brand by Deutsche Telekom.

The operator said the name change and Magenta brand colouring will be introduced gradually across Greece. The transition will be marked on 8 September with a communications campaign.

Deutsche Telekom said the use of its international brand would create synergies for customers and Greece. Deutsche Telekom board member for Europe Dominique Leroy said the brand alignment would help the group use its global partnerships, while OTE Group chairman and CEO Kostas Nebis said the Telekom brand would connect Greece with future digital technology.
