Consumer Cellular adds Airalo eSIM travel option with 15% discount

Consumer Cellular now presents Airalo as its primary solution for subscribers who need international connectivity outside the United States, with a 15% discount on Airalo eSIMs available through October 31.

The arrangement requires a separate Airalo account and separate payment, because Airalo eSIM purchases are not billed through Consumer Cellular. Consumer Cellular customers who bought a phone on an installment plan and still owe money on the device must pay off the balance before the phone can be unlocked for use with Airalo or another service.

Consumer Cellular's legacy international roaming add-ons remain available through its customer support line. The company lists texting at 1 to 3 cents per text in many countries, voice calls at $0.02 per minute in Japan, $0.17 per minute in Brazil and France, and $0.83 per minute in Morocco, and data at $3 per GB in France, $4.20 per GB in Japan, $8.10 per GB in Brazil, and $27.90 per GB in Morocco.

Airalo is a Singapore-based eSIM provider founded in 2019 and said it had more than 30 million customers as of April 2025. Consumer Cellular said it has 4 million customers and resells service on AT&T's network.
