AT&T signs 5-year US Open connectivity deal with USTA

AT&T said the agreement covers connectivity at the US Open site in the United States, including the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center and Arthur Ashe Stadium. The operator told Mobile World Live it upgraded network infrastructure to support tens of thousands of fans using mobile data for streaming, ticket scanning and general connectivity during the tournament.

AT&T said it enabled standalone 5G in the area around the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center and enhanced its distributed antenna system, or DAS, a venue network that extends wireless coverage indoors and in dense locations. AT&T said the DAS acts as a neutral-host network, meaning it carries wireless traffic for multiple operators across Arthur Ashe Stadium and the wider tournament grounds.

AT&T said the same network infrastructure supports tournament operations, including ticket scanners, on-site hotspots and back-up phones. AT&T said it is working with the USTA on further network improvements, with the next upgrade phase scheduled ahead of the 2027 US Open as new fan spaces open at the facility.
