UK pushes ahead with mobile, Wi-Fi sharing in upper 6 GHz band

UK regulator Ofcom is moving forward with plans to let mobile networks and Wi-Fi share the upper 6 GHz spectrum band. The move is meant to squeeze more capacity out of limited airwaves as data use keeps rising.
Allowing both technologies in the same band could support faster mobile broadband and more reliable Wi-Fi, but it also raises questions about how to manage interference and prioritise different services. Ofcom’s work now focuses on technical rules and coordination so the two can operate side by side without degrading performance.
