SpaceX’s satellite internet unit Starlink has turned off its service in Papua New Guinea and reportedly pulled out of the market, after court action stalled approval of its operating licence.
The low-Earth-orbit provider had been seeking to enter PNG’s telecoms sector, but legal disputes have tied up the licensing process. With no clear path to regulatory approval, Starlink has now cut service in the country, leaving its future presence there uncertain.
