Qualcomm, Neura team up on industrial-grade robots
Qualcomm has signed a long-term partnership with German firm Neura Robotics to push robots out of the lab and into real industrial, service, and home use. The companies will combine Qualcomm’s AI computing, connectivity, and robotics hardware with Neura’s embodied AI software and robotic systems, aiming to make robots that can safely work alongside people.
The collaboration focuses on so-called Brain + Nervous System reference architectures that link high-level perception, reasoning, and planning with very low-latency motion control. Qualcomm and Neura also plan developer platforms and open ecosystems to help others build on their work. Neura, which makes industrial arms and humanoid robots, says the deal is a step toward “physical AI” that is open, scalable, and trusted. The agreement was announced ahead of the Embedded World trade show in Germany.
