Ooredoo’s Syntys buys Q Data to expand Qatar data centre portfolio
Ooredoo Group’s digital infrastructure arm Syntys has acquired Q Data QFZ, a Qatar-based hyperscale data centre operator. The deal adds 12.5MW of IT load capacity to Syntys’ existing data centre footprint in the country, deepening its role in hosting and cloud infrastructure.
The acquisition folds Q Data’s facilities into Syntys’ portfolio, giving Ooredoo more scale in a market where demand for local, high-capacity data centres is growing. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed in the initial announcement.
