maya.mobile Global eSIM review cites 60% stable use in 10 days
TL;DR: A Reddit user said maya.mobile's 14-day Global eSIM worked well for about 60% of a 10-day trip to Georgia and Armenia on a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, with 30% of the time limited to 3G data and 10% showing signal but no working data.
A Reddit post on r/eSim said a traveler used maya.mobile's Global eSIM during a 10-day trip to Georgia and Armenia. The user said they bought the 14-day unlimited-data plan for US$27.99 and used it on a UK-bought Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. The post described the product as a global eSIM covering 165 countries.
The user said the service delivered decent speeds when it worked, but reported repeated network issues. The post said the eSIM was sometimes stuck in 3G-only mode in places where 5G or LTE had previously worked, and sometimes connected to the mobile network but lost data service after about 30 seconds. The user estimated that the eSIM worked well for around 60% of the trip, ran in slow 3G mode for 30%, and had signal without data for 10%.
The user said they tried rebooting the phone, toggling the eSIM on and off, changing the APN to globaldata, and switching multi-IMSI settings between manual and automatic. Multi-IMSI refers to a SIM or eSIM profile that can use multiple international mobile subscriber identities to access different partner networks. The user said these steps did not resolve the issue and believed the problem was external to the device. The post also said support replied quickly at first but later closed a ticket after noting 500MB of usage in the prior 24 hours. The user also reported that traffic appeared to exit via the UK and that YouTube Music sometimes showed only third-party music videos on that exit IP.
