Deutsche Telekom expands satellite IoT with multi-orbit first
Source: lightreadingFebruary 13, 2026
Deutsche Telekom is teaming up with Skylo, Sateliot, OQ Technology and Iridium to broaden its Internet of Things (IoT) coverage using satellites. The partners combine geostationary (GEO), low Earth orbit (LEO) and existing mobile networks so connected devices can stay online beyond normal cellular range.
The approach targets use cases like remote monitoring, asset tracking and industrial controls in areas with poor or no terrestrial coverage. By stitching together multiple satellite orbits with mobile networks, Deutsche Telekom aims to offer more consistent connectivity rather than depending on a single satellite system.
