Fastweb+Vodafone and TIM create joint venture to build up to 6,000 towers
Telecom Italia (TIM) and the Fastweb+Vodafone partnership are setting up a joint venture to build up to 6,000 mobile towers in Italy. The move follows their earlier agreement to roll out 5G infrastructure together, aiming to expand network coverage and share the cost of new sites.
The new company will focus on developing and operating the towers, which the operators will then use to host their 5G equipment. By pooling resources, TIM and Fastweb+Vodafone expect to speed up deployment while limiting the duplication of masts and related investment.
