China's telcos join the OpenClaw craze
China’s major telecom operators are rolling out new cloud-based services to cash in on a sudden surge of interest in “lobster farming” tied to the OpenClaw trend. As OpenClaw catches on, consumers and small businesses are looking for digital tools and infrastructure to manage this niche activity, and the telcos are positioning their cloud platforms as the backbone for these services.
The operators are using their existing networks and data centers to host and support OpenClaw-related applications, pitching themselves as stable, scalable providers rather than flashy startups. The move shows how quickly large incumbents in China will repackage and sell cloud capacity when a new digital fad starts to pull real traffic and spending.
