AT&T banks on convergence to halt wireless churn
AT&T is leaning on bundled services to slow the number of customers leaving its wireless business. After seeing wireless churn rise again in the fourth quarter, the company is betting that tying mobile plans more tightly to broadband and other services will make subscribers less likely to switch.
The strategy, often called convergence, aims to lock in households with combined offers rather than stand‑alone wireless lines. AT&T is using these bundles to push longer customer lifespans and steadier revenue, as competition in the US mobile market keeps pressure on pricing and promotions.
