Telenor Pakistan sale finally completed
Telenor Group has closed the sale of its Pakistan mobile business to Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), which is part of UAE-based e&. This marks Telenor’s formal exit from Pakistan’s telecom market after operating there for nearly two decades.
The deal hands control of Telenor Pakistan’s mobile operations, customers and network assets to PTCL, which already runs its own mobile brand, Ufone. PTCL and its parent group e& now have a larger share of Pakistan’s telecom sector, while Telenor continues to focus on its core markets in the Nordics and parts of Asia.
