Realme, OnePlus to become official Oppo sub-brands
Chinese smartphone makers Realme and OnePlus are set to be folded more tightly into Oppo as official sub-brands, according to a report from Lei Feng Network. Parent company BKK Electronics is restructuring to share resources across the three names and reduce costs, effectively turning what were separate operations into a single underlying team.
Under the reported plan, Oppo becomes the lead global brand, while Realme and OnePlus sit beneath it. Research and development, aftersales and logistics would be run jointly rather than in parallel. Realme, which spun out from Oppo in 2018 and built a strong position in India, Southeast Asia and Europe, would formally rejoin. OnePlus, already a long-time sister brand to Oppo, would also move under the same umbrella structure. Realme CEO Sky Li is expected to oversee the combined sub-brand business, and upcoming Realme launches are due to proceed as planned.
