Orange inks binding deal to acquire full control of MasOrange
France’s Orange group has signed a binding agreement to buy the 50 percent of MasOrange it does not already own, for EUR 4.25 billion in cash. MasOrange is Orange’s Spanish operator, created from the merger of Orange Spain and MasMovil. With this deal, Orange moves from joint ownership to full control of the business, consolidating its position in the Spanish telecoms market.
The transaction gives Orange a clear command structure over MasOrange and ends the shared control model with its previous partner. The move is part of Orange’s broader strategy to strengthen its operations in key European markets by owning its main local businesses outright.
