NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS and Airlinq Team Up to Simplify Global IoT
NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS and Airlinq have agreed a strategic partnership to make it easier for companies to run IoT services across multiple countries with different telecom rules. The deal targets sectors like automotive and construction machinery, where connected devices need consistent service while regulations often limit long-term roaming by foreign operators. Instead of each enterprise negotiating separately with local carriers and regulators, the two firms aim to provide a single framework for compliant, stable connectivity.
Airlinq will supply its connectivity management platform and eSIM/eUICC capabilities, including remote SIM provisioning so devices can switch to local carrier profiles without physically changing SIM cards. NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS will lead overall solution design, project governance and end-to-end support, from planning through operations. Together, they plan to offer unified SIM and connectivity management across carriers and countries, handle local regulatory alignment and contracting, and reduce the operational load of managing multi-country IoT deployments.
