From trials to scale — Wi-Fi HaLow is finally finding its moment
Wi-Fi HaLow, a low-power, long-range version of Wi-Fi aimed at IoT, is starting to move beyond pilots into broader deployment. As connected devices shift from sending small sensor updates to handling heavier tasks like video, audio, and edge AI, HaLow’s ability to cover long distances and penetrate walls with relatively low power is drawing more interest from vendors and enterprises.
The technology targets a middle ground between short-range Wi-Fi and wide-area cellular IoT options, giving developers another tool for linking large numbers of devices in factories, buildings, and remote sites. After years of trials and limited rollouts, early production deployments suggest Wi-Fi HaLow is edging closer to mainstream use, especially in data-rich, real-time IoT applications.
