First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and Mastercard have rolled out a mobile-first virtual card number (VCN) service for corporate customers in the UAE, described as the first of its kind in the Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa region. The product issues virtual corporate cards directly to employees’ mobile wallets, allowing businesses to manage and control company spending without physical cards.
The Mastercard VCN solution lets companies set limits and rules on each virtual card and track transactions in real time. FAB positions the service as a way for firms to tighten expense control, reduce reliance on plastic cards, and support staff who need fast, on-the-go payment tools for work-related purchases.
