Digicel PNG and local microfinance institution MiBank have struck a deal to connect their services, allowing customers to move money between MiBank accounts and Digicel’s mobile money platform, CellMoni.
Under the partnership, CellMoni users can now top up their mobile wallets from MiBank, while MiBank customers can send funds directly to CellMoni. The move is pitched as a way to make it easier for people in Papua New Guinea to access and use digital financial services, particularly those who rely on mobile money instead of traditional banking branches.
