BT International appoints ex-Vodacom, Telia exec as new CFO

BT International has hired telecoms veteran Kobus Lubbe as its new chief financial officer. Lubbe brings more than two decades of sector experience, including senior roles at Vodacom, Telia and IHS Towers.

At Vodacom, he served as CFO and interim CEO and helped launch Vodacom Mozambique, taking it to market. He then spent over eight years at Telia in a series of finance and operations posts, among them CFO of Eurasia, regional COO, VP of corporate control, VP of finance, interim CFO and CFO of Sweden, as well as leading transformation work. Most recently, he was SVP and deputy group CFO at IHS Towers, overseeing nine country CFOs and setting strategic direction and governance across its markets. In a LinkedIn post, Lubbe thanked BT International CEO Bas Burger and the team for their welcome and said he looks forward to helping strengthen BT International’s position as a trusted partner for customers and stakeholders.
