Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a physical zoom ring around its camera island
Xiaomi’s upcoming 17 Ultra will put an old camera habit back into people’s hands: a physical zoom ring. Wrapped around the phone’s circular rear camera island, the ring lets users adjust zoom by turning it, instead of relying only on the touchscreen. Xiaomi announced the feature ahead of the phone’s official launch on December 25.
The device is officially branded the “Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica” and, in at least one color option, will carry Leica’s red dot logo on the back. Earlier leaks suggest the 17 Ultra will have three rear cameras, one fewer than its predecessor, with the periscope telephoto remaining part of the setup.
