Vodafone puts money where mouth is with $15M Cohere investment
Vodafone has backed up its long-running praise for Cohere Technologies by putting money into the company. The operator is investing $15 million in Cohere, whose software is designed to squeeze more capacity out of existing 4G and 5G mobile networks.
Vodafone has been testing Cohere’s tech as a way to upgrade network performance without ripping out current radio equipment. The cash stake signals Vodafone’s interest in software-based upgrades that can delay costly hardware swaps, while giving Cohere a stronger foothold with one of Europe’s biggest carriers.
