Liberty Global, Telefónica and InfraVia have agreed to buy Substantial Group, the UK fibre network operator better known as Netomnia. The acquisition will be carried out through their wholesale fibre joint venture, nexfibre.
The deal gives the Virgin Media O2 owners a larger footprint in the UK full-fibre market by adding Netomnia’s network assets and build activity into nexfibre’s existing plans. The companies did not disclose further financial or operational details in the initial announcement.
