Viettel breaks ground on Vietnam’s first semiconductor plant
Vietnam’s military-owned operator Viettel Group has started building the country’s first semiconductor chip manufacturing plant, backing the government’s push to build a domestic chip industry.
The facility is positioned as a key part of Vietnam’s plan to develop a full semiconductor ecosystem at home, from design to production, reducing reliance on imported chips and attracting more high-tech investment.
