Verizon's new wireless rates spark price war worries
Verizon has cut prices on several wireless plans, signaling how aggressively new CEO Dan Schulman may move to claw back postpaid customers. The changes lower monthly costs for some users and offer more data or features at the same or reduced price, putting pressure on rivals AT&T and T-Mobile to respond.
Analysts say the moves could trigger a wider price battle in an already saturated U.S. wireless market, where major carriers have relied on rate stability and add-on services to protect revenue. Any prolonged discounting would likely squeeze margins across the industry, even as operators continue to spend heavily on 5G networks and spectrum.
