Verizon, Aeris target headache of inbound IoT connections
Verizon Business and IoT platform provider Aeris are joining forces to make it easier for global companies to run connected devices in the US. The deal links Aeris’ IoTA Inbound Services with Verizon’s ThingSpace platform, with a focus on inbound connectivity for enterprises that already manage outbound connections across multiple regions.
The partners say they are using the GSMA SGP.32 eSIM standard to support remote provisioning and central management of devices, including 5G hardware in sectors such as automotive, industrial automation and smart cities. Today, many enterprises juggle multiple contracts and platforms to keep devices online in different countries. Aeris and Verizon claim their combined service will cut US device onboarding from months to weeks and give customers one interface for provisioning, billing and analytics, while leaning on Aeris’ existing security tools.
